BUILDING DOWN SPOUT RELINING - WASHINGTON DC
The USCAAF is a Historical Landmark, which required US Sewer Lateral Lining System. Which is a new innovative process of lining drains, which results in little to no damage to the existing structure.
Global Pipe Liner is a pipeline reconstruction system, which consists of non-woven, needled, polyester felt which is saturated with a thermosetting resin and inserted into an existing drain and cured in place. This creates a new pipe, which has a design life of at least 50 years.
- The drains are first photographed and measured. The material used to re-line the existing drain leaders is laid out to the proper lengths.
- The resin is a two-part mixture. Once mixed a thermo-reaction occurs.
- The lining material used is non-woven, needled, polyester felt and plastic material. The resin is poured into the lining and rolled throughout lining. The lining is then inserted into the drain leader by air pressure vessel.
- e end of the lining is then rubber banded with a guiding strip of woven cloth connected and loaded into an air pressure vessel.
- Technician rolls liner into chamber. Once the proper pressure is reached the vessel begins to blow out the lining into the existing drain leader. The technician guides the lining into the drain leader
- e lining is completely driven into drain and then cut and nailed to a frame, leaving guiding strip intact to accept the liner expander.
- Here lining is shown as the technician prepares to attach liner expander.
- The liner expander is rolled into air pressure vessel and then blown out and inflated into the liner, conforming to the exact size of the existing pipe.
- The liner expander is left in-place for 3-4 hours to cure. A hard cast lining is formed.
- Once cured the liner is deflated and removed. The drain is then re-photographed for results. This process was performed on 8 drain leaders at USCAAF.
