PENN STATE - 2007 INSTALL

One of our countries most renowned university’s was experiencing a unique situation with a 24 inch diameter main sewer line. The university was noticing “sink holes” in and around the pipe on the surface. The thing that made the situation so unique was the fact that this particular pipe ran directly down the main street of the campus. In addition, the university was about 10 days from “move in day” for the students. US Sewer & Drain quickly mobilized to televise the pipe and see what was causing the problem. After televising the 3,000 foot long section of sewer main it appeared that sections of the old clay pipe were broken and or missing. Because of the large amount of volume moving through this pipe this allowed for exfiltration. Ultimately causing erosion and the sink holes on the surface. Penn State decided to have the US Sewer team tackle the job. However time was of the essence. The US Sewer & Drain organization was able to rearrange its schedule to allow for immediate instillation. The US Sewer & Drain crew worked around the clock for several days to ensure there would be no disruption on move in day. After the job was complete the US Sewer & Drain crew watched as students and parents walked along the street on move in day. Topside of where this 24 inch sewer main had just been installed. Recovering from three straight days of work, some crew members with only a few hours of sleep, the crew was literally washing down the work area and sweeping up the morning of the big move in day. Way to “Get’er done guys!”. Nice work
