JOHNSON & JOHNSON
![]()
When one of the worlds leaders in pharmaceuticals and health product manufactures were having problems with the sewer system at one of there manufacturing facilities, they called US Sewer to get the job done right. A Johnson & Johnson representative contacted US Sewer to explain that there 8,000 foot long sewer system was experiencing problems. Not only did this facility have a 4,000 foot long stretch of 8, 10 and 12 inch diameter sewer line, it also had an additional 4,000 feet of “process waste” line running right next to the sewer line. Some of the challenges with this job was that the process waste line had to be cleaned before entry, due to the potential harmful products in the pipe. Because the plant could not shut down operation the pipe lining would have to be done at night on third shift. Johnson & Johnson also has one of the most stringent “Health and Safety” programs in the entire world. The pipe lining crew would be expected to wear “Full respiratory” safety gear in and “Outside” of the manhole. Although preparing the liner for insertion would be extremely difficult due to all of the safety equipment, US Sewer was up to the challenge. A window of fifteen days was the time allotted for completion. This time frame just so happened to be within Christmas and New Years. US Sewer got the entire 8,000 feet done in 13 days.
